Travel in time in occupied Cyprus!

December 2, 2024

Have you ever dreamt of walking through history? You might have heard of Cyprus island, but did you know that its capital, Nicosia, is the last divided capital of Europe? Since 1974, almost half of the island has been under Turkish occupation, but tourists can still visit it with valid IDs/passports. During that war, the Greek-cypriot community was expelled to the other side of the island (free regions of the Republic of Cyprus).

What Happened 50 Years Later?

A group of Greek-cypriot refugees, united by the spirit of reuniting with their homeland and spreading the Cypriot history, formed an NGO named 'Kyprou Nostos'. Their mission? To share their stories and pre-war memories, while moving around in occupied towns.

These experiential trips are not sightseeing; it is a chance to relive the island’s past through the eyes of those who knew it best and once called this place home.
